Good-bye

You weren't just
a cousin.

You were a friend,
Always, first and foremost.

You were a sympathetic ear,
When I needed a confidant.

You were a playmate,
When we was young.

You were my tormentor,
And only rarely went to far.

You were my protector,
When things got rough.

I miss all that,
And more.

To say good-bye,
Is just so hard.
