Our Song

I heard our song
On the radio today.
How long has it been
Since we first heard it play.
We danced for hours,
You and me together.
Nothing else mattered,
Our eyes never left each other.
They played it
At our wedding.
It couldn't have been
A more perfect setting.
Our children sang it
For our twenty-fifth.
They couldn't have
Given us a better gift.
We played it at your funeral
To honour your memory.
The song is so important,
The words no longer matter to me.
I'll love and
Miss you forever.
I truly wish
We were still together.
But as long as our song plays,
I'll remember you
For the rest of my days.
