Trapped
Trapped in a life nobody wants,
the man settles in for the night.
He dreams of a house, a family,
a car in the drive, and a front porch light.
He dreams of a life long ago lost,
when he had all he could ever want.
He wants, for all the world, to change
his life, to get a job and a home.
He awakens with a start, the rain drops
hide the tears already in his eyes.
It'll never happen, it's a hopeless dream.
Who would ever hire a man from the street.
